Who We Are
About CHBA
We think Chappell Hill is not an ordinary Texas town. Nestled along Highway 290 between Austin and Houston, it sits near Washington-on-the-Brazos — the birthplace of the Republic of Texas — and carries with it generations of character, community, and pride. It is a place where neighbors still know each other by name, where families have put down roots for generations, and where the spirit of Texas feels genuinely alive.
For years, those of us who live here have known what a special place this is. But we also recognized something: the entrances and public spaces of our town did not reflect the beauty of the community behind them.
The Chappell Hill Beautification Association was founded by a group of enthusiastic residents to do something about that. We are neighbors, business owners, families, and longtime community members — who believe that beautiful surroundings signal to the world that we are a community that cares.
Current Initiative
Our First Project
Our first project selected will be for 2 permanent markers at the north side corners of Highway 1155 and Interstate 290, entrance to Main Street. They will create a gateway entrance worthy of Main Street Chappell Hill. Designed by Gerry Hogsed of Folding Oaks Design in Brenham, Texas, these markers will greet every visitor with the craftsmanship and community pride that define who we are. This is just the beginning. CHBA is building something lasting — a more beautiful Chappell Hill, one project at a time. Our projected cost for this project will be $150,000.
This is a preliminary drawing subject to the approval of the landowners of each property. Designs and Engineering by Gerry Hogsed of Folding Oaks Design of Brenham Texas
Funding Goal
$150,000
Funds raised will not only be used to pay for the construction of the monuments, but also future maintenance of the property.
Our kickoff event will be November 10th — for tickets, visit our Events page.
